The Galapagos Islands

semi-overcast -30 °C

/90_DSCF2082.jpg caption=DSCF2082]At the end of 2015, my wife and I traveled to the Galapagos Islands for a week of island hopping. We reserved room and board on a fantastic yacht. It had been a dream of mine to see these magnificent islands. Finally the opportunity came as my wife and I had been on business in Colombia. We hopped to Quito at the end of our tour in Colombia, spent a few days in the area, then hopped on a plane to the Galapagos. We spent a few days on land in order to hike the highlands in search of the giant tortoises. We are so glad we did this, as there was no promise we would be able to do so on our week long cruise. Sure enough, the weather was bad, and we never saw the tortoises in their natural habitat during the cruise. Had we not taken the extra time, we would have only seen the tortoises in their breeding pens...

You can see a few of my photos attached below.
